"I'm not lost! I'm in sixth grade!" Meng fumed. Back in elementary school, she was always made fun of for her height. And now, it was her first day of middle school and already someone had mistaken her for a little kid.

"Guys, I'm sure I'll be fine," she told them in a matter-of-fact tone, "Besides, I'll still get to see my other friends when I go to tutor at the middle school. You two can stop worrying now."

"Who's worried? I'm not worried," Sokka said, knowing perfectly well he didn't sound at all convincing. "I'm just doing my brotherly duties, that's all. That way, you can tell Uncle Bato and Dad what a good brother I am the next time I get in trouble."

Zuko choked, adding emphasis to his teasing of his friend. "Good brother huh? Nice." Zuko said before turning back to Katara. "You're going to tutor huh? Wow, you're more active than I thought."

Katara laughed, "Ah so that's what this has been all about!" She leaned back against the wall again, still smiling,"You're going to need all the help you can get if you attempt even half the things you've been plotting." She then turned to Zuko, "I was in the peer tutor program last year and it was a lot of fun, so I thought I'd do it again," her eyes suddenly lit up, "You guys should try it! It's a great experience..."

"Really? You're such a shrimp." Arisa put her hand on the girl's head. The girl was about four inches shorter than her.
"You must've come from a different elementary school than me. I don't remember ever seeing you before," she said conversationally. "But never mind that. My older sister showed me around the school a few days ago. I can show you around too. Let me see your schedule!" She grabbed the piece of paper from her hands and started reading it.

"Attempt? My dear baby sister, there is no attempting with Principal Zhao. You either succeed, or you are ignored. They will be all accomplished in due course, and all will be successful...and yes, I am going to need all the help I can get avoiding Dad's wrath. Still, Zhao deserves it." Sokka paused to stare at his sister. "Me? Peer tutor? Do I really look like the kind of guy you want middle school kids to role model? Not to mention lord of the flame over here..."

"Nah, we're master minds...wait, do you want to help or something?" Zuko asked, feeling stupid as he did so. Even he had to admit he sounded like Sokka sometimes, and that wasn't much for his people skills. He then blinked. "Tutor, I'm not a genius, I probably couldn't tutor anyone in any subject." Zuko said uneasily. He then glared at his friend. "Will you cut that out?" (Love ya Reggie ^-~)

Sokka shrugged. "No, it annoys you. Look, Katara, we..." A lightbulb suddenly clicked on in Sokka's head, "would absolutly love to be peer tutors with you!"

Zuko was about to retort when Sokka inturupted. "We would? Oh come on, don't drag me into toturing brats!"

This girl was very straightforward.
Well, I might as well try to make friends with her. "My name's Meng," she introduced herself. "What's yours?"

"Will you excuse us a moment, Katara?" Sokka said, before grabbing Zuko in a headlock and dragging him a few feet away. "Zuko, think about this a moment. Easy. Credit. We're both looking at barely graduating as is. If we take a filler class that we're garunteed to pass, then we graduate. Get it?"

"Hm? Oh, it's Arisa." Arisa finished scanning the girl's - er - Meng's schedule and handed it back to her. "It seems you're in my class. I guess I can put up with you." She smirked and held out her hand. "Friends?"

"What, oh no. I'm bad enough here! I would burn their faces off!" Zuko said, trying to pull out of Sokka's head lock. "Absolutly not, it'll turn out for the worse just watch!"

"You won't burn their faces off, you ninny, you're not that bad. Anyway, it isn't like we've got much a choice. We need the credit, and besides how bad could a bunch of little middleschoolers be? Trust me, this will be a cinch. Plus, it's a great alibi when we get in trouble."
