Everyone stare as I angst over my fear of getting Avatar characters OOC. I think this sounds right, but I'd feel a lot better if my experts would check. So, experts, does this sound like a beginning of an Avatar episode?
Sokka turned the bag upside down eagerly. When nothing came out, he shook it. A few crumbs fell out but were quickly blown away by the breeze. With a sigh, Sokka threw the bag over his shoulder. “Why am I not surprised we’re out of food, again?”
“Well, it isn’t like flying around on a bison is a very profitable business,” Katara shot back from where she was seated next to Aang at the front of the saddle.
“You know, Aang, maybe we should start charging to save people. That way, we wouldn’t go hungry nearly as often.”
“Sokka!”
“What, it was just a suggestion.”

^^ I think it's great. Sokka goodness.
And for some reason, while I was reading this, I was picturing all the characters as if they were in a manga. (Okay, I think reading Fruits Basket is officially messing with my brain...)

Yay! If you think they're okay then I should be fine.
...Harry Potter characters are Manga characters in my head, so it can't be to much of a bad thing right?

Nope! ^^ You know, I once had the idea of making Harry Potter into a manga.

It would make an awesome manga series, in my opinion. Certainly better than live action movies *grumbles about live action stuff*.

Erg, the movies do the books so much injustice....You should've seen me and my other obsessed Harry Potter fan friend after seeing the Goblet of Fire. We ranted about everything in it for fifteen minutes. We most likely would've ranted longer, but our parents came to take us home.

I didn't mind Goblet of Fire as much, it was Chamber of Secrets that really pissed me off.

Goblet of Fire wasn't too bad. The movie that pissed me off, though, was Prisoner of Azkaban. They left out way too much (even if it was cut for time!) and things didn't happen chronologically like in the book!
But I swear, the thing in Goblet of Fire that pissed me off the most was Dumbledore. I mean, how fricken OOC can you get?! I wanted to STRANGLE him! >_< *shakes fist*

Dumbledore was horribly out of character, but I did like how it seemed a more character driven movie than the last three.
I didn't mind Prisoner of Azkaban as much as I should have considering how much I adore the Marauder Era. I was to pleased with the aesthetic value of the show to care over much about what was cut out.

Well, with Harry Potter (and being a complete nerd with reading the books), I get mad at the tiniest details with the movies. I'm just a stickler with that.
What ticks me off the most is that they don't bother to explain things that were explained in the books.

I think it's cool, because it makes some people actually want to read the books.
I can relate though. It took me a long time to get over some of the stuff in The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. Don't get me wrong, they are far and away my favorite movies. I just had to give myself time to learn to let go of things, even though some of them still really annoy me. That skill of learning to let stuff go carried over to Goblet of Fire.

See, that's where I think you're wrong. I know people who've seen the movies, thought they were stupid, and didn't even give the books a chance. That's why I don't like the movies very much. It's like I have a grudge against them.

I know people like that, and I know people that wanted to read them because they liked the movies. I also know people who read the books because they hated the movies and wanted to see if the books were better.
I think it's more a personality thing.

Maybe, but the only people I know who like the books are ones who've been reading the books before they saw the movies.
But as for me, I kinda go both ways. Back in elementary school, every time someone tried to get me to read Harry Potter, I'd say there was no way I'd want to read something that stupid (though I really had no clue what the heck it was about). But in sixth grade, when the first movie came out, I saw the commercial and thought that it looked interesting. So I bought the first three books and was determined to finish the first one before the movie came out. And that's how I got hooked.

I read the first three in a night, because my grandmother bought them for my younger siblings and I was bored.
